The Ragged School opened in 1877 to serve the children of Mile End with basic education.

The building is possibly one of the most haunted buildings in London. A sinister presence was picked up in the basement on the Kinect SLS Camera ghost hunting tool. There is reputedly the old caretaker haunting the basement. After sensing there was a figure hiding in the corner, the tool confirmed it and one of the team interacted with it. It was the first time this tool was used by the group.
